Stalin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is USSR. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Stalin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazushi Kazuraba!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stalin fails with a takedown attempt.
Kazuraba fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Stalin is looking for a counter combo.

Stalin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kazuraba wants to control but Stalin is keeping busy.
Kazuraba is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kazuraba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stalin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stalin wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kazuraba tries to roll over but Stalin keeps him under control.

Kazuraba prevents Stalin from taking his back.

Stalin tries to control but Kazuraba wriggling away.
Kazuraba tries to hold on but Stalin postures up.
Kazuraba is trying desperately to improve position.

Stalin with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Kazuraba is looking to get to half guard.
Kazuraba tries to lock up and control but Stalin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kazuraba is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kazuraba wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Stalin is hanging on to Kazuraba's back as he tries to escape.

A determined Joe Stalin didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
