Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Emile Lindsey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robert Saccamano!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saccamano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
As Saccamano looks to move away, Lindsey throws a big counter combo but Saccamano just gets out of the way.

Lindsey gets a clinch.

Lindsey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Saccamano scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Lindsey manages to get back to half guard.
Saccamano controlling the action here.
Saccamano works his way into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Saccamano decides to stand back up. Saccamano steps back and let's Lindsey get back to his feet.

Saccamano shoots in but Lindsey avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lindsey is looking to counter the offense by Saccamano and move into the clinch.
A head kick misses from Saccamano.
Saccamano blocks a head kick by Lindsey.
Saccamano fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lindsey avoids it really well and circles away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lindsey moves into the clinch.

Saccamano has hold of one of Lindsey's legs. Lindsey is fighting the takedown attempt but Saccamano gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Saccamano is stalling in the full guard.
Saccamano stands and throws Lindsey's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Saccamano working the strikes but Lindsey uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Saccamano seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lindsey does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Lindsey is looking to improve his position.

It looks like Saccamano might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Saccamano is working for an americana but Lindsey has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Saccamano was thinking about the submission.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lindsey is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

That was a close round but I would say that Emile Lindsey will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


An inside leg kick lands from Saccamano.
Robert Saccamano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Saccamano moves into range and clinches up with Lindsey.
Lindsey could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Saccamano turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Lindsey tries to bench press Saccamano off him but Saccamano keeps the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee asks Saccamano politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Saccamano prefers to stall for the moment though.
Saccamano wants to control but Lindsey is keeping him busy.

Saccamano goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lindsey has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Saccamano but great work by Lindsey.

A head kick misses from Saccamano.
Saccamano looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Saccamano is breathing heavily.
Saccamano fails with a takedown attempt.

Saccamano shoots in and bounces Lindsey off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Lindsey is looking to stand up but Saccamano isn't so interested in that idea.

Saccamano slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Saccamano might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lindsey haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Saccamano drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lindsey has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Saccamano is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Lindsey has hold of one of Saccamano's legs. Saccamano is fighting the takedown attempt but Lindsey gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Lindsey gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Lindsey gets caught napping as Saccamano dives in and scores a takedown. Lindsey manages to retain guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Saccamano postures up in Lindsey's guard and throws a big left but Lindsey blocks it.

Lindsey has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Saccamano has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Lindsey gets control of Saccamano's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lindsey will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That's time! Lindsey's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Lindsey has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Saccamano uses from the top position.

Emile Lindsey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Saccamano.

Lindsey has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Saccamano regains guard immediately.

Emile Lindsey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Saccamano lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lindsey wants to stand back up but Saccamano manages to pass into side control.

Let's hope that Saccamano has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Lindsey sneaks out the side door and pushes Saccamano away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Lindsey keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lindsey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Saccamano shoots in for a takedown but Lindsey shows good takedown defense.
As Saccamano looks to move away, Lindsey throws a big counter combo but Saccamano just gets out of the way.
Saccamano shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lindsey as he jumps to the side.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lindsey darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Emile Lindsey showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lindsey, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
