Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Evans!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Jonathan Paton and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Griffin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Evans is looking to escape.

Griffin is looking for a kimura but Evans is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Griffin to get the leverage.

Griffin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Evans doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Griffin.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griffin seems to be looking for submissions.
Griffin wants to take a breather but Evans is having none of it.
Evans is trying to stand.

Griffin is looking for a kimura here.
Griffin is trying to control. Evans wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Evans is looking to escape.
Evans taking some punishment here, with Griffin in his half guard.

Griffin seems to be working for a kimura but Evans defends the submission attempt.
Evans keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Griffin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Evans wants to get back to his feet.
Evans on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Griffin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Griffin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Evans defends it well.

Griffin is breathing heavily.

Griffin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Evans knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Evans is staying active underneath Griffin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Griffin prevents Evans from standing back up.

Griffin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Griffin passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Evans!

Evans really wants to buck Griffin off and get back to his feet.
Griffin breaks from Evans's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans is trying to stand.
Griffin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Evans can do anything to dispel that myth.
Evans's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Evans really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Griffin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Evans is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Griffin locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Evans is forced to tap!
