Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Zoro (ranked 6197 p4p, 543 weight class) and Ethan Glover (ranked 6649 p4p, 557 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glover uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zoro.
Zoro wants to clinch but Glover slips to the side

and Glover decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Zoro's guard.
Glover controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Glover's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Glover slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zoro is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Glover must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zoro is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Glover has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Glover!
Glover really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zoro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Zoro wants to sweep here but Glover controlling him for the moment.

That was a close round but I would say that Pierre Zoro will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Glover lands a nice short elbow.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Glover takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Zoro is staying active underneath Glover, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Glover might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Zoro haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

And Glover tries to counter it with a takedown but Zoro pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Glover is pressing down on Zoro's thigh, looking to free his foot. Zoro is holding on for now.

Zoro isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Glover stacks Zoro on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Glover!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
