Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Rigidy!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blevins looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rigidy shoots in but no luck this time.
Rigidy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Blevins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rigidy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Blevins pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rigidy is out of range and Blevins settles back down.
Rigidy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Blevins sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Rigidy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rigidy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blevins tries to avoid it but Rigidy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blevins to the ground. Blevins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gavin Blevins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Rigidy.
Rigidy lands a glancing blow to the side of Blevins's head.
Blevins misses with a wild combination.
Rigidy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blevins as he jumps to the side.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
No luck for Rigidy with that takedown attempt.

Rigidy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rigidy showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rigidy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Blevins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rigidy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've been informed that Rigidy has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Blevins is doing well to control the position and prevent Rigidy from advancing to side control.
Rigidy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Rigidy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Blevins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rigidy is working away from the top position though.
Blevins flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Blevins is pressing down on Rigidy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Blevins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rigidy manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Rigidy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Blevins swivels and escapes.

Rigidy wants to control but Blevins passes into side.

Blevins cracks Rigidy with a big right hand but Rigidy just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Blevins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
