The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald takes a swing at Wawelski's ribcage but misses.
McDonald takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Wawelski tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wawelski scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wawelski. McDonald does a little dance to reset his feet.

McDonald is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wawelski.

I was talking to McDonald's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

McDonald is leaning against Wawelski and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
McDonald creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Wawelski with a big uppercut! Wawelski tries to clinch up but McDonald pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Wawelski to the mat! Wawelski covers up and McDonald unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Trevor McDonald was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
