The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pfeifer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Pfeifer has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hobson is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Pfeifer shoots in but Hobson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hobson lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Hobson throws a head kick but Pfeifer moves out of range.
Despite the aggression on Pfeifer's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Pfeifer instigates a clinch.
Pfeifer wants to get back to striking at distance but Hobson won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hobson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pfeifer dives in for a single leg takedown but Hobson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hobson throws a big counter combination but Pfeifer scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Hobson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pfeifer throws out the jab.
Pfeifer throws a hook but Hobson avoids it easily.
