Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heimo Vesa (ranked 2665 p4p, 348 weight class) and Steven Fromm (ranked 3762 p4p, 470 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Heimo Vesa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Fromm!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vesa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vesa looks to land a combination but Fromm avoids it well.
Vesa has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Fromm tries a head kick but it misses.
Fromm throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vesa's waist but Vesa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fromm off to one side.
Fromm thuds his shin into the meat of Vesa's side.
Fromm scores with a head kick.
It looks like Heimo Vesa has been cut.
Vesa cracks Fromm with a right hand to the side of the head.
Vesa scores with a sloppy right hand. Fromm should have avoided that one.
Vesa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fromm tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fromm just misses with a punch to the body.
Vesa slaps away a takedown attempt from Fromm, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Heimo Vesa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fromm is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vesa.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fromm pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fromm takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Vesa connects with a body shot.

Steven Fromm was interviewed post fight and said 'I got have naked and wrestled another man, that's still a win in my book...'.
