Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Neville Champman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Hatton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hatton comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Blue Moon kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ricky Hatton will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Champman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hatton throws a body kick that misses.

Champman shoots in and drives through. Hatton sprawls well.

and Champman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hatton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Champman stands and throws Hatton's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Champman remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Hatton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Champman cracks Hatton with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Champman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Hatton's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Hatton is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Neville Champman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hatton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hatton lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Champman has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Champman and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
