The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Geisler lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fenix or perhaps it was just good defense by Geisler, which made it look bad.
Geisler's jab looks to have found its range, popping Fenix under the eye.

Geisler lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Marcus Fenix has been cut.
An inside leg kick lands from Geisler.
Fenix throws a hook but Geisler blocks it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Fenix has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Geisler has closed the distance and engaged Fenix in a clinch.

Geisler drops Fenix onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Fenix is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Geisler pushes Fenix against the cage. Geisler is working some dirty boxing. Geisler pushes off with a quick right hook! Fenix goes down! Fenix tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Geisler moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
