Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul McDonald (ranked 2538 p4p, 92 weight class) and Kiryu Kirazawa (ranked 3358 p4p, 126 weight class). McDonald comes to the cage accompanied by Set it Off. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul McDonald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kiryu Kirazawa!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald shoots in and drives through. Kirazawa sprawls well.
Kirazawa connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
McDonald slips under a jab.
Kirazawa looks to land a right hand but McDonald moved out of range.
McDonald changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Kirazawa throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kirazawa throws a jab when McDonald was well out of range.
McDonald is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kirazawa is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
McDonald shoots in for a double leg but Kirazawa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kirazawa scores with a punch to the head.
McDonald avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McDonald fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kirazawa lands a glancing blow to the side of McDonald's head.
Kirazawa has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McDonald.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul McDonald. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kirazawa loads up on a big right hand but McDonald slips the punch.
McDonald feinted with a counter takedown.

McDonald bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McDonald tries for a kimura but Kirazawa is defending well.

Kirazawa is looking for a sweep.
Kirazawa is looking to work his way out of this bad position but McDonald is controlling him well.

McDonald thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
McDonald is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McDonald wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kirazawa keeps working.

McDonald tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McDonald has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

McDonald in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Kirazawa is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Paul McDonald decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
