The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riddick scores with a decent looking hook.
Swift tries for a takedown but Riddick circles away easily

and Riddick counters by clinching up.
Riddick lands with a short shot to the head.
Swift is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Riddick is defending well.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Riddick as Swift tries to tie him up.
Swift looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Swift jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Riddick walks away with a smile on his face. Swift gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Swift. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Riddick uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Jess Riddick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Riddick connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Riddick's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Riddick's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Riddick stuffs the takedown attempt from Swift. Swift gets slowly back to his feet.
Swift looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Swift shoots in looking for a takedown but Riddick manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Swift's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Swift takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Riddick is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Swift had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Swift takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Riddick lands with an uppercut that bounces Swift off the cage and back into range.

Riddick connects with a good right hand that stumbles Swift. Swift circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Oooooh!!! Riddick has knocked Swift down with a huge combo! Riddick steps away and waves a wobbly Swift back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Riddick sends Swift crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Riddick is motioning to the referee to let Swift up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Swift is rocked!
Riddick lands a brutal uppercut that launches Swift off his feet! Swift tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
