Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Rios (ranked 6193 p4p, 398 weight class) and Troy Klein (ranked 6242 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klein clinches.
Klein drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Klein changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rios fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Rios avoids a kick to the body.
Klein keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rios.
Klein fails to land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Klein.
Shawn Rios has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Troy Klein.
Klein tries to clinch up
and Rios counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Rios is pressed up against the cage. Klein has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rios down to the mat. Rios avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

enabling Rios to counter with a crisp jab.

Klein tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rios just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Klein obliges.
Klein tries to score a body lock takedown but Rios shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Klein breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Rios lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

and Klein holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Klein jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rios walks away with a smile on his face. Klein gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Rios thuds a left hand into Klein's body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Klein is defended easily by Rios.
It looked like Rios wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Klein throws a front kick aimed at Rios's knee but Rios avoids it well.

Rios throws a shot from downtown. Klein moves away and avoids it.
Rios lands with a straight right. Klein didn't see that one coming.
Klein fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rios avoids it really well and circles away.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Klein manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Klein pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Klein counters with a nice body kick.
Klein misses with a series of wild punches.

Klein uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rios.
Klein has Rios up against the cage in a clinch.
Rios is trying to push Klein away but Klein has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Klein keeps control of Rios as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Klein is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rios is defending well for now.

Klein pulls guard successfully.
Rios looking to sit in guard and control but Klein gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Klein drops back looking for a leg! Rios is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rios manages to kick Klein off! Klein jumps back into Rios's guard.
Rios can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Klein controls the pace.

Troy Klein showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Klein rushes Rios and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Klein jumps guard and drags Rios to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Klein jumps into guard, dragging Rios to the mat.
Klein uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Rios throws a jab when Klein was well out of range.
Klein avoids the body shot from Rios.
Klein clinches with his opponent.
Klein prevents Rios from breaking the clinch.
Klein is trying to pull guard but Rios turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Klein - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rios looking to sit in guard and control but Klein gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Klein slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Rios wants to get back to his feet but Klein is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Klein seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rios wants to stand but Klein is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Klein slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Troy Klein comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Klein has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Troy Klein rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
