Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maxwell Booker (ranked 394 p4p, 47 weight class) and Rokuya Date (ranked 623 p4p, 83 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maxwell Booker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rokuya Date!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Date throws a jab when Booker was well out of range.
Date throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Booker feints and as Date raises his hands in defense, Booker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Date controlling Booker's posture.
Booker works a leg free and moves into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Booker is trying to control the action in half guard but Date is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Booker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Booker wants to pass the guard but Date is defending well.

Booker looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Still in half guard, Booker seems content to control.

Booker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Date, who protects the arm well.

Date is trying to stick to Booker's back but Booker is turning into Date. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Date's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Booker.

Date throws the left hand but Booker avoids the punch easily.

Date really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Booker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Booker looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Date felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Booker is nestled in close to Date, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Booker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Date can do to turn this around?

The crowd cheers as Date lands an impressive looking overhand right. Booker doesn't seem phased though.

Booker takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Date lands a nice hook to Booker's body. Booker takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Date cracks Booker with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Booker looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Date finish him?


Booker is rocked!


It looks like Maxwell Booker has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Booker on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Oh Booker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Date has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Booker takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Booker seems to have got his legs back now.

Date feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Booker sprawling to the canvas! Booker rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Date finish him?!
Rokuya Date seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Booker leaves his chin hanging out and Date seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Booker crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
