PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Lima (ranked 3809 p4p, 379 weight class) and Jakob Jokic (ranked 4003 p4p, 403 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lima closes the distance and clinches up with Jokic, looking for a takedown. Lima pushes Jokic against the cage but Jokic circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lima shoots in for a takedown but Jokic shows good takedown defense.

Jokic looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Lima!

Jokic thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lima's head.
Jokic thows a huge punch but Lima dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jokic connects with a nice short shot to Lima's temple.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lima is on top in guard.

Lima drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jokic manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lima has Jokic in his guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lima has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jokic can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lima utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jokic is working Lima over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Lima is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jokic defends well.

We've been informed that Jokic has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Lima is trying to control but can't.
Lima is staying active underneath Jokic, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jokic keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lima's head.

Lima has his foot on Jokic's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jokic works his way back into a safe position though.

Jokic has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Lima to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Jokic is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Lima pulls down on the head and he's put Jokic to sleep! This one is all over!
