Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Daniels (ranked 6046 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dragan Draganov (ranked 5959 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragan Draganov will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dragan Draganov!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Draganov tries to clinch but Daniels moves out of range.

Draganov tries for a takedown but Daniels sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Daniels sets himself, and Draganov steps forward looking for the clinch! Daniels avoids it this time.

Draganov has Daniels up against the cage in a clinch.
Draganov is working for takedown but Daniels is calmly controlling the position for now.
Draganov should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Draganov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Daniels smiles and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daniels closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Draganov did well to prevent Daniels getting side control.
Draganov has hold of Daniels's hands but Daniels slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Daniels is working for a kimura but Draganov is defending it quite comfortably.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Daniels lands a nice short elbow.

Daniels seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Draganov for as long as he can get away with.
Daniels is landing with some decent strikes but Draganov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Draganov is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Daniels gets his way!

Daniels fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Draganov sprawls well initially but Daniels persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Draganov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daniels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Draganov pushes Daniels off looking to stand but Daniels dives back in and keeps control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Draganov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Daniels has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Daniels with shots to the head and body - Draganov looks very uncomfortable down there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Draganov is trying to escape the mount.
Daniels scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Draganov?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Draganov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Daniels is trying to trip Draganov. He has hold of a leg but Draganov is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Daniels persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Draganov is wriggling around but Daniels manages to pass to half guard.

Daniels takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Draganov is looking to improve his position.

Draganov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
No luck for Daniels with that takedown attempt.

Daniels shoots in and bounces Draganov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Draganov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Daniels is controlling him.
