The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bacon throws a big shot that misses.
Sanchez seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Bacon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Sanchez counters with a shoot takedown. Bacon fights it but they end up in guard.
Sanchez looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Sanchez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Sanchez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Bacon tries to keep at a distance but Sanchez has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sanchez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bacon misses with a double jab

and Sanchez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bacon looking for a takedown.

Sanchez pulls guard.

Sanchez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Bacon presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Bacon is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Sanchez is defending well for now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bacon tries a knee to the head but Sanchez blocks it.

Sanchez pulls guard effortlessly.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sanchez holds on and takes a little breather.
Sanchez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sanchez prevents Bacon from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sanchez is looking to work some ground and pound but Bacon has wrist control.
Sanchez postures up in Bacon's guard and throws a big left but Bacon blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanchez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sanchez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Bacon has his feet on Sanchez's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Sanchez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bacon throws a series of punches but Sanchez moves out of range.

Sanchez darts in and clinches Bacon up against the cage.
Knees to the body from Sanchez.
Bacon letting Sanchez take a breather here.
Sanchez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bacon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Sanchez tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Bacon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Bacon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sanchez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bacon.
Sanchez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Sanchez is looking to clinch but Bacon is avoiding it.
Randell Sanchez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A cross from Bacon lands.


Sanchez is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bacon fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Oh Sanchez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Chris Bacon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bacon. That's going to slow Sanchez down.
Bacon feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Sanchez crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
