Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barry Weaver (ranked 24002 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manel Kape (ranked 7733 p4p, 0 weight class). Manel Kape has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Barry Weaver's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kape fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Weaver, pushing him back against the cage.

Kape is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Weaver can't fight it off and eventually Kape manages to take the fight to the floor. Weaver looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kape tries to free his leg and advance position but Weaver is retaining full guard.
Weaver really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kape wants to get up but he can't break Weaver's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Kape throwing strikes from guard but Weaver blocks nicely.
Kape in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Weaver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kape is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weaver is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Weaver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kape is controlling him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kape checks the leg kick.
Kape drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Weaver defends it well.
Weaver scores with a nice head shot.

Weaver shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Weaver was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Weaver looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Weaver goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kape rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Weaver's guard! Nice work there by Kape!

Kape stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Weaver throws a head kick that Kape semi-blocks.

Kape manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Weaver on his heels. He'll look to pass Weaver's guard now, I'm sure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kape accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kape trying to control the position from guard on top but Weaver is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kape stands up and waves to Weaver to follow him.
Weaver throws out a loose jab but Kape uses good head movement to avoid it.
As Weaver backs off Kape throws a huge counter combo but Weaver manages to avoid it all.

Kape drives through with a takedown into Weaver's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Kape with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kape stands up and waves to Weaver to follow him.
Weaver is breathing heavily.

Kape closes the distance and pushes Weaver back into the cage.
Kape is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Weaver drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kape gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Weaver escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kape decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kape passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Weaver!
Poor strikes thrown by Kape there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Weaver is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Kape working the ground and pound effectively.
Kape trying to control but Weaver is having none of it.
Weaver takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Kape get's back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kape throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kape just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromWeaver.
Kape throws a combination that misses
and Weaver counters with a big head kick but Kape shrugs it off.

Kape gets the takedown into side control.
Weaver takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Weaver is rocked!

Kape tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Oh Weaver is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kape thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Weaver takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Kape in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kape in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Weaver looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Kape turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
