PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drake Fury (ranked 3733 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conrad Poohs (ranked 5832 p4p, 0 weight class). Conrad Poohs told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fury will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fury shoots in for a takedown but Poohs shows good takedown defense.

Fury closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Poohs's guard.
Poohs controls Fury momentarily but Fury frees himself.
Poohs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fury. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fury thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Fury wants to pass the guard but Poohs is keeping the position.

Fury drops back looking for a leg! Poohs is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Poohs manages to kick Fury off! Fury jumps back into Poohs's guard.
Poohs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fury controls the pace.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fury tries to free his leg and advance position but Poohs is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Poohs is trying desperately to improve position.

Poohs has left one of his arms exposed and Fury doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Poohs screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Drake Fury decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
