Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pekka Pouta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jihad Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pekka Pouta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jihad Joe!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Joe. That snapped Pouta's head back.
Joe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice takedown defense from Joe. No joy for Pouta on that attempt.
Joe slips a jab from Pouta.
Pouta avoids a punch combination nicely.
Joe lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Pouta looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Joe misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Joe flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Joe is looking for a sweep. Pouta is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Pouta is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Joe is looking for a triangle but Pouta pushes his legs off easily.
Pouta wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving.
Joe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pouta scores with a one two! Joe had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Pouta closes this distance looking for a takedown but Joe circles away.
Pouta ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pouta.
Pouta advances to full mount.
Joe wants to control but Pouta is having none of it.

Joe is squirming around, avoiding Pouta's attempts to control the action.

Pouta with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Joe wants to hold on but Pouta pushes him away.
Joe really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Pouta lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Joe hang on?
Joe tries to lock up and control but Pouta gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Joe stuffs the takedown attempt from Pouta. Pouta gets slowly back to his feet.
Joe throws a left and a right that both miss

and Pouta counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Pouta is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Joe manages to get to full guard.
Pouta postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Joe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pouta's guard.
Joe is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Joe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Joe connects with a couple of short punches.
Pouta is trying to keep Joe in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Joe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Pouta keeping moving, preventing Joe from controlling successfully.

Joe throws a big right hand that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pouta will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Joe misses with a double jab.
Pouta motions for Joe to come forward. Pouta throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Pouta takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Pekka Pouta is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pouta shoots in but no luck this time.

Joe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pouta circles away quickly and effectively.
Pouta misses with a takedown attempt - Joe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Joe looks to land a combination but Pouta avoids it well.
Pouta avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pouta drops his hands momentarily and Joe takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Joe misses with a few strikes there.

Pouta looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Joe has his foot on Pouta's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pouta works his way back into a safe position though.
Pouta trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Joe lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pouta!

Joe lands a nice shot to the head.
Pouta is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pouta is looking to improve his position but Joe isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Joe looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Joe connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
BOOM! Joe connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Pouta blocking the ground and pound.
Pouta tries to hold on but Joe postures up.
Pouta working to try and regain half guard.
Pouta is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pouta is squirming around, avoiding Joe's attempts to control the action.
Joe sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pekka Pouta will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Joe swinging wilding here.
Pouta pivots, looking for a leg kick but Joe is out of range and Pouta settles back down.
Joe misses with a few strikes there.
Some wild striking there from Joe.
Joe falls off balance throwing a combination

and Pouta moves into the clinch.
Joe lands a shoulder strike.

Joe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pouta throws a nice looking combination but Joe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pouta shoots for a double leg takedown but Joe sprawls well. He's pushed Pouta's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pouta fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Danga de danga de dang - Joe scores with a four punch combination!
Joe scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

A left lands for Joe.
Pouta shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Joe but Joe pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Pouta counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pouta.

Joe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pouta gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Joe is looking to sinch up a triangle. Pouta throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Joe's body to avoid the submission. Joe has instead reached around Pouta's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Joe arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jihad Joe!
