Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Oswaldo Henson (ranked 25373 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saitama Punch (ranked 6043 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oswaldo Henson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saitama Punch!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Punch clinches up against the cage.

Punch tightens his grip and picks Henson up, before dumping him to the ground. Henson manages to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Punch controlling from the top position.
Henson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Punch drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Henson dives on top into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Punch is looking to stand up but Henson isn't so interested in that idea.

Punch seems keen to control Henson's posture.
Let's hope that Punch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Henson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Punch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Henson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Punch can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Henson controls the pace.

Punch has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Henson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Punch to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Punch is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Punch is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Henson still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Henson has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Punch is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Henson pulls his head out easily.

Henson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Punch is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Punch has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Punch gets to his feet. Henson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Henson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Punch's waist but Punch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Henson off to one side.

Punch closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Henson quickly recovers to half guard.

Punch sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Henson's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Henson wants to control but Punch is keeping busy.

Henson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Punch in particular looking to stall.
Henson is trying to control but can't.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Punch thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Henson's head.

Punch is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Punch circles away from the clinch attempt.

Punch pushes Henson up against the cage in a clinch.

Punch gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Henson is trying to maintain the position but Punch is very close to passing his half guard.
Still in half guard, Punch seems content to control.
Saitama Punch has got the better of the ground game so far.

Punch escapes and gets back to his feet.

Punch darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Henson is trying to escape back to his feet but Punch uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Punch is staying tight to Henson's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Punch in side control, throwing shots but Henson defends.
Punch has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Punch tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Punch throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Punch gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Saitama Punch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Henson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Punch throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Henson was covering up waiting for the punch and Punch finishes the takedown easily into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Punch stops Henson from standing up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Punch is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Punch closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Henson did well to prevent Punch getting side control.

Henson is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.

Punch stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Henson to get to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Henson dives in for a single leg takedown but Punch sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Saitama Punch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Punch manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Henson on his heels. He'll look to pass Henson's guard now, I'm sure.

And that's the end of the fight!
Saitama Punch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Punch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
