Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
25 - 41 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Eikmeyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
29 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Garrison!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eikmeyer misses with a takedown
and Eikmeyer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Eikmeyer with a poor takedown
and Garrison connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Garrison throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Garrison moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Eikmeyer throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Garrison tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Eikmeyer is in Garrison's guard.
Eikmeyer stands up over Garrison, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Eikmeyer connects with a couple of short punches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Garrison working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Eikmeyer.
Eikmeyer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Garrison looking to hit a scissor sweep but Eikmeyer is one step ahead there.
Eikmeyer drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Eikmeyer as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Garrison screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Eikmeyer! Nice submission victory there!

Mario Eikmeyer decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
