Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hollis Ferguson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Chashchin!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chashchin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Chashchin unleashes a big counter combination but Ferguson bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Chashchin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Still in half guard, Chashchin seems content to control.
Ferguson missing with punches from the bottom.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chashchin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ferguson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Ferguson is looking to control Chashchin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ferguson avoid being mounted?
Ferguson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Chashchin wants to control but Ferguson is keeping him busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Chashchin leaves Ferguson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ferguson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chashchin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Ferguson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Chashchin goes for a double leg but Ferguson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ferguson continues to drive forward.

Chashchin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ferguson.
Chashchin shoots in looking for a takedown. Ferguson tries to sprawl out of it but Chashchin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ferguson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ferguson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Chashchin manages to circle out of the way.

Ferguson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Chashchin!
Chashchin bucks up and tries to throw Ferguson off but instead Ferguson has got his back!
Ferguson is not going to allow Chashchin to sit and survive in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chashchin tries to escape but Ferguson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ferguson trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Chashchin doesn't escape.
Chashchin trying to control the hands but Ferguson won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hollis Ferguson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Chashchin fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ferguson checks it well.
Ferguson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chashchin avoids it really well and circles away.

Chashchin is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chashchin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ferguson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ferguson's back!

Ferguson is covering up but some of the strikes from Chashchin are getting through and doing damage.
Chashchin is trying to control but Ferguson is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.

Chashchin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ferguson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ferguson and Chashchin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Dmitry Chashchin has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Chashchin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Ferguson wants to control but Chashchin is having none of it.
Ferguson is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Chashchin wants to take his opponent's back but instead Ferguson manages to regain half guard.

Ferguson is trying to stand back up but Chashchin is controlling him
Chashchin is pressing down on Ferguson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ferguson is holding on for now.
Chashchin is trying to control. Ferguson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferguson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ferguson.
Ferguson is looking to stand up but Chashchin isn't so interested in that idea.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Chashchin looking to sit in guard and control but Ferguson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ferguson wants to stand and escape but instead Chashchin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Chashchin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dmitry Chashchin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Chashchin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ferguson circles away.
Ferguson is looking to counter with head kicks.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ferguson.
Ferguson doesn't manage to clinch there - Chashchin circles away.

Hollis Ferguson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitry Chashchin.
Ferguson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Chashchin avoids it.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Ferguson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ferguson pulls guard.

Ferguson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Ferguson wants to take the fight to the mat but Chashchin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Chashchin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ferguson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Chashchin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Ferguson.
Chashchin is looking to take this one to the mat.
Ferguson has Chashchin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Chashchin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Ferguson jumps guard and drags Chashchin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Chashchin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ferguson, up you get!

Chashchin slaps away a takedown attempt from Ferguson, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Chashchin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Chashchin wants to advance to full mount but Ferguson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Ferguson lands a good elbow from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Ferguson keeps the fight on the outside.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hollis Ferguson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Ferguson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
