Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josue Davenport (ranked 6126 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Chashchin (ranked 3773 p4p, 0 weight class). Dmitry Chashchin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Chashchin!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chashchin tries to clinch but Davenport is having none of it.
Chashchin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Davenport clinches.

Chashchin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Chashchin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chashchin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Davenport sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Davenport half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Davenport forces Chashchin back against the cage and clinches.

Davenport is trying to control the position but Chashchin postures up.

Davenport has hold of one of Chashchin's legs. Chashchin is fighting the takedown attempt but Davenport gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Chashchin is looking for a triangle but Davenport pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chashchin is working an open guard so Davenport takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
A head kick misses from Davenport.
Chashchin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Chashchin throws a right hand that Davenport ducks under and follows up with a left that Davenport also avoids with ease.
It looked like Davenport was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Chashchin.

Chashchin gets caught napping as Davenport dives in and scores a takedown. Chashchin manages to retain guard.
Davenport is standing up over Chashchin. Chashchin looks to escape but Davenport dives into side control.

Chashchin tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Davenport grinds an elbow into Chashchin's temple.

Davenport is trying to get an arm triangle but Chashchin is defending well.
Chashchin gets back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chashchin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Davenport is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chashchin drags the fight down to the ground.

Chashchin throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Davenport escapes and throws Chashchin's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Davenport tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Davenport takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Chashchin to pass into mount.
Chashchin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Josue Davenport overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Chashchin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Chashchin tries to lock up and control but Davenport gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Davenport is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chashchin can do to turn this around?

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chashchin is trying to control but Davenport passes into side control!
Chashchin is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Davenport is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

As Chashchin looks to move away, Davenport throws a big counter combo but Chashchin just gets out of the way.

Chashchin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chashchin dives in and grabs Davenport's left leg, looking for a takedown. Davenport pushes down on Chashchin's head and hops out.
Chashchin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Davenport sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Davenport looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Davenport has picked Chashchin up - he's going for a ride! Davenport dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Chashchin is looking to get back to is feet but Davenport passes into side control.

Davenport is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chashchin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Davenport is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chashchin has escaped the position, nice work there.
Chashchin tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Chashchin is just holding on here. Davenport manages to take his back.
Chashchin wants to control his opponent's hands but Davenport gets his hands free.

Davenport is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Chashchin defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Chashchin is trying to get back to his feet but Davenport has full control of the position and if anything, Chashchin has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Davenport is trying to stick to Chashchin's back but Chashchin is turning into Davenport. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Davenport's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Chashchin.

Davenport is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Davenport, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
