Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Handle (ranked 925 p4p, 126 weight class) and Brian Grimes (ranked 2145 p4p, 268 weight class). Handle comes to the cage accompanied by Right On. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Handle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Grimes!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Handle gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Grimes manages to break the clinch.
Grimes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Handle.
Grimes walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.


It looks like Brian Grimes has been cut.
Handle throws a hook but Grimes blocks it.
Handle takes one to the chin there.
Handle throws a right hand that Grimes ducks under and follows up with a left that Grimes also avoids with ease.
Grimes misses with an uppercut.
Handle jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Grimes walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A telegraphed right hand from Handle misses the target.
Handle throws an off balance right hand
enabling Grimes to counter with a crisp jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Grimes catches Handle with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Handle tries to bum rush Grimes with a series of wild strikes but Grimes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Grimes misses the jab.
Grimes throws a hook to the side of Handle's head but Handle sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Handle takes one on the button.
Handle rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Grimes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Handle scores with a jab to the head.
Handle misses with a straight right.
We've been told by Handle's head coaches at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A jab from Handle does it's job there.
Handle throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
As Handle backs off Grimes throws a huge counter combo but Handle manages to avoid it all.
Grimes gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.


Grimes is rocked!
Handle is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Handle ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Handle misses with a hook. Grimes ducked under it nicely.
Handle gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Handle staying out of range there.
Handle swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Grimes counters with a stiff right hand.

Handle clinches up against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Handle just misses with a elbow thrown towards Grimes's brow.
Handle is pushing Grimes up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Grimes manages to break the clinch.
Grimes has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Handle throws a hook to the side of Grimes's head but Grimes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grimes moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Handle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Grimes.
Handle misses with a double jab
and Grimes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Grimes takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Handle misses with a two punch combination.
Handle looks to land a left hand but Grimes moved out of range nicely.
Grimes moves out of range of the strikes.
Grimes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Handle.


Handle is rocked!
Handle throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Grimes counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Handle out cold! What a finish! Grimes is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Brian Grimes!
