The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chicken bucks up and tries to throw Erickson off but instead Erickson has got his back!

Erickson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Chicken is defending well though. Erickson let's go of the attempt for now.

Erickson is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Erickson gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Erickson gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Erickson apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Michael Chicken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Erickson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Erickson connects with a nice short shot to Chicken's temple.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Erickson in particular looking to stall.

Let's hope that Erickson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Erickson won't let Chicken get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Erickson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Erickson has hold of Chicken's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Chicken seems comfortable defending it but Erickson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Chicken is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Chicken is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Erickson couldn't care less - he's delighted!
