And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Donald Edgar!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, John Mangel and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar misses with a takedown attempt
and Walton makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Edgar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Walton defends it nicely.

Walton moves into the clinch.

Walton gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Edgar is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Walton pulls his head out easily.

Edgar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Walton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Walton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Walton connects with a couple of short punches.
Edgar has momentary wrist control but Walton slips an elbow through the middle.

Walton stands up from Edgar's guard - Walton perhaps looking for a knockout.
Edgar throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Walton counters with a left and a right that stings Edgar.
Edgar tries for a takedown but Walton circles away easily
and Walton counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Keven Walton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donald Edgar.

Walton gets the takedown into side control.

and Walton counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Walton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Edgar, pushing him back against the cage.
Edgar is trying to pull guard but Walton turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Walton doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Walton has picked Edgar up - he's going for a ride! Walton dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Edgar is trying to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Edgar moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Edgar is looking to cinch up a triangle. Walton throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Edgar's body to avoid the submission. Edgar has instead reached around Walton's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Edgar arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Donald Edgar!
A relieved looking Donald Edgar thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
