Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianenko rushes Thai and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Thai will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Emelianenko up against the cage.
Emelianenko tries to pull guard but Thai won't allow it.

Thai escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Emelianenko misses with a series of wild punches.
Emelianenko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Emelianenko shoots for a double leg takedown but Thai sprawls well. He's pushed Emelianenko 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Thai wants to stand but Emelianenko has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thai prevents Emelianenko from improving his position.
Thai really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emelianenko . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
