Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bennie Dillon (ranked 5934 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McClane (ranked 5834 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bennie Dillon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John McClane!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dillon throws a sloppy head kick and McClane moves out of range easily.
Dillon checks a low kick from McClane.
Dillon throws a head kick but McClane moves out of range.

McClane fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dillon, pushing him back against the cage.
McClane changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dillon fights it off and pushes away nicely.

McClane closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Dillon is looking for a takedown.
Dillon is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Dillon manages to break the clinch.
A head kick misses from McClane.
Dillon tries to counter with a takedown but McClane is quick to defend against it.
McClane throws a nice looking combination but Dillon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Dillon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

McClane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McClane stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dillon to get to his feet.
McClane tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dillon defends well and McClane ends up having to push Dillon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

McClane gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dillon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McClane lands strikes from half guard.

McClane seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dillon wants to get back to his feet.
McClane is looking to advance position but Dillon won't allow it.
McClane seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

McClane moves nicely into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McClane lands some shots froms side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


McClane fails to land the takedown.
It looked like Dillon was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Dillon throws a sloppy head kick and McClane moves out of range easily.

McClane looks to land a combination but Dillon avoids it well.
Dillon throws a big counter combination but McClane scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
John McClane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McClane shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Both fighters circling a little - Dillon finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

McClane fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dillon avoids it really well and circles away.

McClane throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dillon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
McClane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dillon tries to avoid it but McClane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dillon to the ground. Dillon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

McClane is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dillon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McClane to the mat. McClane regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dillon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Dillon is looking to work some ground and pound but McClane has wrist control.
McClane is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

McClane takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dillon enables McClane to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dillon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

McClane shoots in for a takedown but Dillon shows good takedown defense.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dillon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dillon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

McClane has hold of Dillon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dillon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

McClane pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Dillon is working to get back to half guard.
McClane lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Dillon wants to try and get back to his feet.

McClane is landing with some decent strikes but Dillon is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to John McClane.
I think McClane has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
