Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Grin Department (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Huy Hang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Department tries to clinch but Hang is having none of it.
Hang avoids the head kick by Department.

Department moves into the clinch.
Department tries a knee to the head but Hang blocks it.
Hang slows down the pace here.
Hang tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hang tries to pull guard but Department won't allow it.

Department pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hang avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hang decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hang is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Well, if Hang is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hang wants to free his trapped foot but Department is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Department pushes Hang off looking to stand but Hang dives back in and keeps control.

Hang sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Hang passes to side control.
Department wants to get back to his feet but Hang drags him back down.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Department might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
I looks like Hang might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Hang has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Department is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hang asserts his dominance and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Department's face as Hang controls the position.

Department is pushing Hang 's head away, looking to escape. Hang manages to hold on to the position though.

Despite being in the dominant position, Huy Hang just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hang keeps the fight on the outside.

Department lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Hang moves into the clinch.
Department is trying to break free.
Hang can't get the takedown.
Grin Department has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Huy Hang .
Hang has Department pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Department manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hang is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Department pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hang wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hang is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Department gets to his feet - Hang follows without any prompting.
A head kick from Department lands but Hang takes it in his stride.

Left hook, right uppercut from Department.
Department throws a head kick that half lands.
Department throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Department closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

and Hang counters with a shoot takedown. Department fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Department swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hang drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Department manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hang has Department in his guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Grin Department will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

and Hang decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Department's guard.

Department stuffs the takedown attempt from Hang . Hang gets slowly back to his feet.
Department connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hang 's hands.

and Hang counters with a shoot takedown. Department fights it but they end up in guard.

Hang slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hang fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Grin Department has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Huy Hang .

Hang shoots in and bounces Department off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Huy Hang comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hang has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
