Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mega Tron (ranked 5981 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 7180 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tron looking to score a takedown here. Smith is defending well but Tron drives through and ends up in Smith's guard.
Smith looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Tron stands and throws Smith's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Smith is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Tron gets his way!

Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tron gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Tron seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Tron is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around?
Smith can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tron controls the pace.

Tron gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Tron drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Los Angeles inform us that Smith has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Tron is pushing Smith up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Tron turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tron manages to end up in side control.
Tron wants to take a breather but Smith manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Tron.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Tron throws a series of strikes that have Smith backpedaling.

It looks like John Smith has been cut.
Smith doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tron scores with a counter punch that sends Smith to the canvas! Tron smells blood - he's punishing Smith with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Smith has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
