The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smallun looks to land a combination. Williams sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Williams tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smallun swivels and escapes.
Smallun tries to clinch but Williams is having none of it.

Williams is working for takedown but Smallun is calmly controlling the position for now.

Williams has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smallun is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Smallun uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Williams has time to react.

Williams jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smallun walks away with a smile on his face. Williams gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Smallun does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smallun looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Smallun is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd cheers as Smallun lands an impressive looking overhand right. Williams doesn't seem phased though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Smallun takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Williams looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smallun is fending him off so far but Williams persists. Nope, Smallun circles away and we're back to standing.

Well Smallun has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
