PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Terence Lampshaw (ranked 6162 p4p, 420 weight class) and Raichu Kong (ranked 24907 p4p, 532 weight class). Lampshaw comes to the cage accompanied by Crave you. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Terence Lampshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raichu Kong!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lampshaw but Lampshaw pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lampshaw is looking to counter with a body kick.
Kong misses with a takedown attempt
and Lampshaw counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Terence Lampshaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raichu Kong.

Lampshaw breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice sprawl there from Lampshaw as Kong shoots in.
Kong shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kong enables Lampshaw to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kong manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kong is looking for a triangle here but Lampshaw uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lampshaw remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Lampshaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kong on the ground.
Kong is trying to maintain the position but Lampshaw is very close to passing his half guard.
Lampshaw wants to stand but Kong has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Kong is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Lampshaw jumps into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lampshaw works to advance to full mount. Kong defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Lampshaw avoids the attempt from Kong to control.
Kong regains half guard.
Lampshaw controlling the pace.
Lampshaw wants to free his trapped foot but Kong is holding on for dear life with his legs.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Terence Lampshaw dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kong is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Lampshaw counters with a big head kick but Kong shrugs it off.

Kong's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Lampshaw pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloppy strikes from Kong. Those never looked like landing.

Kong closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Terence Lampshaw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lampshaw takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Lampshaw is not content to let Kong control the position.

Lampshaw wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Kong has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Lampshaw's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Lampshaw is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Kong!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Raichu Kong!
Raichu Kong seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Terence Lampshaw was interviewed post fight and said 'Every step is a step for learning the road to success, Thank you all.'.
