Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Mallin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duncan Meat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Mike Mallin has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Mallin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Duncan Meat!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meat closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Meat is looking to advance position but Mallin won't allow it.
Meat content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Meat tries to pass to full mount but Mallin defends it.
Meat sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mallin defending well though.

Mallin kicks Meat off and gets back to his feet.
Mallin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Meat.

and Meat counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Meat looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Meat controlling the action here.

Meat wants to pass to mount but Mallin is defending the position.
Mallin tries to roll over but Meat keeps him under control.
Meat controlling the action here.
Mallin controlling the position for now.
Meat is taking a breather. Mallin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mallin won't allow Meat to pass to mount.
Meat stalling.
Mallin trying to control but Meat postures up.
Meat keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mallin wants to improve his position but Meat is controlling well.
Meat stalling.
Mallin is in trouble now - Meat has advanced to mount!
Mallin tries to hold on but Meat postures up.
Mallin is looking to get to half guard.
Meat takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mallin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Meat is landing with some decent strikes but Mallin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Meat content just to control the position here.
Mallin tries to hold on but Meat pushes him away.
Mallin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Meat is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Meat working the ground and pound effectively.
Meat postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mallin looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duncan Meat dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mallin tries to clinch up

and Meat counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Meat.
Meat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Meat chips away with some ground and pound.
Mallin trying to keep a closed guard but Meat is proving a slippery customer.
Mallin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Meat slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Meat postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Meat decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Mallin misses with a straight left.
Meat shoots for a double leg takedown but Mallin sprawls well. He's pushed Meat's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Meat gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mallin counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Duncan Meat has been cut.
Mike Mallin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Meat is breathing heavily.
Mallin tries to clinch up

and Meat counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Meat trying to control but Mallin is working from the bottom.

Mallin is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Meat rolls with it to try and escape but Mallin cranks on the arm and Meat is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mike Mallin!
