The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hodges fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lawson moves into the clinch.
Hodges is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lawson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Lawson jumps guard and drags Hodges to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lawson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hodges won't allow Lawson to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lawson wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and Hodges has taken Lawson's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and Lawson has been forced to tap!
