The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messi misses with a few strikes there.

Tillman has closed the distance and engaged Messi in a clinch.
Tillman is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Messi to keep the fight standing.

Messi breaks the clinch.
Messi misses with a double jab.
Messi looks to land a combination. Tillman sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

It looks like Anthony Tillman has been cut.
Tillman dodges the punch combination from Messi.
Tillman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Messi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tillman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Messi as he jumps to the side.
Tillman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Messi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tillman shoots in looking for a takedown. Messi tries to sprawl out of it but Tillman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Messi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Tillman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tillman shoots in but Messi avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Messi counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Barrios Messi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tillman shoots in and drives through. Messi sprawls well.
Tillman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Messi pinned against the cage. Messi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tillman get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Tillman stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Messi runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
