Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Delaware (ranked 4889 p4p, 534 weight class) and Hamdi Shabani (ranked 8076 p4p, 685 weight class). Shabani has chosen Hammer Time by Lecrae (ft. 1K. Phew) as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rufus Delaware!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hamdi Shabani!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shabani is defended easily by Delaware.
Shabani bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Delaware's head.
Delaware thumps Shabani with a low kick.
Shabani dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Delaware scores with a hook to the body. Shabani takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Delaware misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shabani throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Delaware sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Delaware throws a right and a left that both miss.
A punch combination from Shabani misses.
Delaware throws a nice looking combination but Shabani bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Delaware tries to keep at a distance but Shabani has taken the fight into the clinch.

Shabani turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Shabani manages to end up in side control.
Delaware throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

Delaware is looking to reverse the position.
Shabani is looking to take a break and control but Delaware is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Shabani really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Delaware. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A lull in the action here as Shabani stalls from top position.
Delaware is trying to control Shabani's posture but Shabani avoids it.
Shabani wants to lay and pray for a moment but Delaware keeps working.

Shabani tries to advance to mount but can't.
Delaware might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Delaware tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shabani wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Delaware is trying to control Shabani's posture but Shabani avoids it.
Shabani tries to score with some ground and pound. Delaware controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Delaware throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
You can see the frustration on Delaware's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Shabani decides to stand back up.
Shabani throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A left and a right from Shabani both land. Nice combination.
Good leg kick by Delaware there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Delaware fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Delaware avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shabani trying to control the position but instead, Delaware has worked for underhooks and has pushed Shabani into the ropes.
Delaware misses with a punch to the body.
Shabani jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Delaware walks away with a smile on his face. Shabani gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Rufus Delaware has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamdi Shabani.
Delaware scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Hamdi Shabani has been cut.
Delaware connects with an inside leg kick.
Shabani closes this distance looking for a takedown but Delaware circles away.

Delaware throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Shabani closes the distance and pushes Delaware back into the ropes.
Shabani is looking to take this one to the mat.
Delaware tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Delaware trying to stall but Shabani improves his position.
Shabani wants to take the fight to the mat but Delaware manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Delaware is trying to maintain a safe position but Shabani gets an underhook and turns Delaware into the ropes.

Delaware seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Shabani is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Rufus Delaware.
Delaware scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Shabani fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Shabani throws a body punch but Delaware moves out of range.
Delaware seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Delaware misses with a two punch combination.
A lazy left from Delaware finds it's target.
Delaware misses with the combination.
Delaware throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Delaware throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Shabani.
Shabani tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Delaware defends well and Shabani ends up having to push Delaware into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Delaware ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rufus Delaware will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Delaware lands with a nice combination. Shabani backs away looking to recover.


Shabani is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
Shabani walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Delaware swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rufus Delaware!
