Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 40 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Staph Aureus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aureus moves in looking to clinch but Pouncey pushes him off.
Pouncey scores with a crisp jab that stopped Aureus in his tracks.
Pouncey throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pouncey throws a leg kick which misses Aureus's front leg but catches the back leg as Aureus tries to avoid it.
Pouncey lands with a hook. Aureus tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Pouncey drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Pouncey forces his way into half guard.

Aureus looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Pouncey tries to pass to full mount but Aureus defends it.
Pouncey content to control rather than advance.

Pouncey is trying to control. Aureus wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Well, if Pouncey is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pouncey controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Pouncey has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Pouncey distracts Aureus with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Aureus has momentary wrist control but Pouncey slips an elbow through the middle.
Pouncey wants to control from the top but Aureus keeps moving.
Aureus can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pouncey controls the pace.
Pouncey won't allow Aureus to sweep him here.
Pouncey is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Aureus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Pouncey trying to control the position from guard on top but Aureus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Aureus looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pouncey passes into side control.

Pouncey connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Aureus some visible discomfort.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pouncey is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Aureus tries to get to full guard but Pouncey has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aureus doesn't manage to clinch there - Pouncey circles away.
Aureus tries to clinch but Pouncey is having none of it.
Pouncey defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Aureus.
Kelvin Pouncey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pouncey lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Staph Aureus has been cut.
Pouncey looks to land a combination but Aureus avoids it well.
Pouncey lands a body shot.
Pouncey scores with a nice right hand.

Pouncey shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Aureus wants to improve his position but Pouncey is controlling well.

Pouncey is just content to waste time from the top position. Aureus takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Pouncey slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Pouncey tries to free his leg and advance position but Aureus is retaining full guard.

Pouncey slips nicely into half guard.

Pouncey passes to full mount!
Pouncey is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Aureus can't escape the position.
Kelvin Pouncey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Aureus keeps trying to improve his position.

That has opened up Staph Aureus's cut even more.

Staph Aureus's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Staph Aureus's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Kelvin Pouncey!
After the fight, Kelvin Pouncey was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
In defeat, Staph Aureus stepped up to the mic, saying 'You win some you lose some . I'll be back, dont worry about it !'.
