Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antwan Carr (ranked 6753 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabrice Hent (ranked 8963 p4p, 0 weight class). Fabrice Hent has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Antwan Carr's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Antwan Carr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Fabrice Hent!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carr clinches up against the cage.

Carr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Carr tries to clinch but Hent moves out of range.
Hent wants to clinch

and Carr counters with a takedown into side control.

Hent bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Fabrice Hent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hent closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hent passes into side control, despite Carr's attempt to control the position.
Carr tries to improve position but can't.

Hent goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Carr has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hent but great work by Carr.

Hent sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Hent won't allow Carr to pass to mount.
Carr stops Hent from getting back to his feet.
Hent is trying to get back to full guard.
Carr wants to control but Hent is keeping him busy.
Hent wants to control but Carr is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Carr performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Hent trying to control from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Carr is taking a breather. Hent says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Carr is trying to control the action in half guard but Hent is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Carr throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hent to regain full guard.

Carr could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hent is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hent utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hent closes the distance but Carr moves to the side

so Carr counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Carr throwing strikes from guard but Hent blocks nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hent is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Hent looking for a guillotine here but Carr defends easily.
Carr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hent works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hent looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Carr might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hent is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Carr advances position into side control!

Carr thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hent is trying to get back to half guard.
Carr wants to control but Hent is keeping him busy.
Carr tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Carr tries for a kimura but Hent is defending well.
Carr throws a strike aimed at the side of Hent's head but Hent avoids it well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Antwan Carr dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hent throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Carr went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Hent throws a series of punches but Carr moves out of range.
Carr tries to counter with a takedown but Hent is quick to defend against it.
Hent tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Carr counters with a single leg into guard. Hent didn't expect that.
Hent wants to get back to his feet but Carr is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Carr missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Antwan Carr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hent is controlling Carr's posture.
Carr is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Carr postures up in Hent's guard and throws a big left but Hent blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carr slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Carr throws a big right hand that misses.
Carr makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Carr landing with the ground and pound.
Hent preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Carr throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Hent has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Carr doesn't defend quickly enough and Hent has managed to lock this one up! Can Carr escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hent on a fantastic submission victory.
