Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Oenomaus Doctore (ranked 1685 p4p, 83 weight class) and Scott Kannberg (ranked 3495 p4p, 171 weight class). Doctore comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - . Kannberg has chosen Pavement: 'Date with IKEA' as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oenomaus Doctore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scott Kannberg!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kannberg shoots in but Doctore avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Doctore throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Doctore has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kannberg misses with a jab to the body
and Doctore counters with a nice uppercut.
Kannberg closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Doctore is trying to improve his position.
Doctore manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Kannberg is looking for a kimura here.
Kannberg thows a huge punch but Doctore dodges it nicely.
Doctore has one foot on Kannberg's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Doctore keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kannberg's efforts to push away.
Kannberg is trying to trip Doctore. He has hold of a leg but Doctore is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kannberg persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Doctore pushes Kannberg off and scrambles back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Doctore fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kannberg manages to avoid it.
Kannberg takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

A looping hook to the body misses from Doctore. Kannberg does a little dance to reset his feet.

Doctore throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kannberg blocks a jab.
Some bone on bone action there as Doctore checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Doctore circles away from the clinch attempt
and Doctore counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Doctore misses with a leg kick
and Kannberg counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kannberg drags the fight down to the ground.
Kannberg throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Doctore escapes and throws Kannberg's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Doctore is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kannberg will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Doctore is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kannberg's shoulder. That is not cool.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
Kannberg is looking to reverse the position.
Doctore takes a little break here. Kannberg wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Kannberg is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kannberg tries to get to full guard but Doctore has control of the leg.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doctore controlling the pace.
Doctore tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kannberg knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kannberg is refusing to be controlled, as Doctore sits in half guard.
Kannberg has a hand on Doctore's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Doctore takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Kannberg shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Doctore counters with a thumping low kick.
Doctore throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
As Doctore backs off Kannberg throws a huge counter combo but Doctore manages to avoid it all.
Scott Kannberg is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kannberg looks to land a combination but Doctore avoids it well.
Doctore throws a lazy right hand but Kannberg sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Doctore throws a hook but Kannberg avoids it easily.
Kannberg feints the counter takedown.
Oenomaus Doctore is winning the standup battle so far.
Kannberg uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Doctore.
Doctore takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Doctore gets cracked there but stands up to it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Doctore throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kannberg changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Kannberg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Doctore paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Doctore throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Doctore pushes Kannberg back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kannberg.

Doctore tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Kannberg feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
