The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brynjar takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Brynjar throws a nice looking combination but Mir Jr bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Brynjar takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mir Jr.
It appears Brynjar was looking to counter with a kick there.

and Brynjar counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Frank Mir Jr has been cut.

Mir Jr has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Brynjar pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mir Jr back to the cage. Brynjar follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Mir Jr throws a hook to the side of Brynjar's head but Brynjar sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Brynjar is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Mir Jr flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Mir Jr is out cold! Brynjar holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

In his post fight interview, Nebojša Brynjar started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
