The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fowler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Schooly gets a clinch.
Schooly is trying to drag Fowler to the mat but Fowler just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schooly wants to take the fight to the mat but Fowler manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Schooly closes the distance and clinches up with Fowler, looking for a takedown. Schooly pushes Fowler against the cage but Fowler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Schooly goes for a double leg but Fowler avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Fowler continues to drive forward.

No joy there for Fowler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Schooly shoots in looking for a takedown but Fowler manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Schooly's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schooly has control of Fowler's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fowler regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Fowler tries to hold on but Schooly pushes him away.

Eddie Schooly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fowler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schooly as he avoids it easily.

And Schooly tries to counter it with a takedown but Fowler pushes his down on his head and steps out.

I would just about give that final round to Eddie Schooly.
