The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaarlandt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ura pinned against the cage. Ura gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Gaarlandt counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ura won't be happy with that.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Gaarlandt drops back looking for a leg! Ura is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ura manages to kick Gaarlandt off! Gaarlandt jumps back into Ura's guard.

Gaarlandt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Gaarlandt is nestled in close to Ura, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That was a close round but I would say that Shunzo Ura will probably get the nod.

Ura thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ura is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Gaarlandt is trying to escape and Ura transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Gaarlandt is forced to tap! Nice work there by Ura! Very nice indeed!
