Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blake Phoenix (ranked 3787 p4p, 454 weight class) and Mr Skull (ranked 7102 p4p, 639 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skull tries to score with a low kick but Phoenix moves his leg out of the way.
A quick step to the side and Phoenix tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Skull has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Skull misses with a kick to the body
and Phoenix counters with a stiff right hand.
Nice jab there from Phoenix.
We've been told by Phoenix's head coaches at Phoenix Fight Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A low kick from Skull misses
and Phoenix cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Skull misses with the body kick
and Phoenix counters with a straight right hand.
Phoenix lands the left hand.
Skull tries to close the distance and clinch but Phoenix swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Skull misses with a head kick.
Good work by Phoenix as he checks the leg kick.
Phoenix cracks a nice hook into Skull's ribs.
Phoenix connects with a single shot there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Skull misses with a body kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Skull.
Phoenix throws a jab when Skull was well out of range.
Skull only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Phoenix checks a leg kick nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Phoenix stuns Skull with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Skull keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Skull thows a leg kick but Phoenix checks it
and Phoenix counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Skull cracks the inside of Phoenix's front leg.
Phoenix checks the leg kick.
Mr Skull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skull lands a leg kick that knocks Phoenix off balance momentarily.
Phoenix uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Skull has time to react.
Phoenix lands with an uppercut that bounces Skull off the cage and back into range.
Phoenix on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Phoenix scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Skull doesn't seem bothered though.
Skull takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Phoenix fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Skull fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Phoenix has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Skull walks into a left hand.

letting Phoenix counter with a right hand.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Skull lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Phoenix has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Phoenix and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Skull throws a sloppy head kick and Phoenix moves out of range easily.
Phoenix scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Skull takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Skull is rocked!
Skull walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Skull limp body while Phoenix jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Blake Phoenix!
