Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnov gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Smirnov manages to break the clinch.
Smirnov closes the distance and clinches.
Smirnov landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Patton jumps guard but Smirnov stands there with Patton around his waist. Patton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Smirnov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smirnov moves into the clinch successfully.
Smirnov utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Patton jumps guard but Smirnov turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smirnov tries a knee to the head but Patton blocks it.
Smirnov is struggling to control the position.
Patton tries to pull guard but Smirnov holds him up against the cage and eventually Patton drops back down to his feet.

Patton wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Smirnov has him pressed against the cage.

Patton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Smirnov smiles and moves away.
Smirnov lands with an uppercut that bounces Patton off the cage and back into range.
It looks like Thurman Patton has been cut.
Smirnov closes the distance and pushes Patton back into the cage.
Smirnov is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Patton with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Patton lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Patton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Smirnov.
Patton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smirnov's waist but Smirnov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Patton off to one side.
Vladimir Smirnov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Patton shoots in for a double leg but Smirnov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Smirnov clinches.
Patton is trying to pull guard but Smirnov has him pressed against the cage.

Patton takes a knee right on the jaw!
Smirnov lands a body shot.
Smirnov scores with a shoulder strike.
Patton is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Smirnov gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Patton is breathing heavily.
Smirnov misses with a knee strike.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Smirnov obliges.
Smirnov lands a hook that snaps the head of Patton backwards.

A chopping leg kick lands by Smirnov.

Smirnov keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Patton's efforts to push away.

Smirnov wants to stand and escape but instead Patton has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Smirnov wants to get back to his feet but Patton is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Patton stays in close to Smirnov's body and controls the position.

Smirnov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Patton decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Smirnov, up you get!
Smirnov moves into the clinch successfully.
A nice left hand lands by Smirnov.
Patton pushes off an throws an elbow but Smirnov leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Smirnov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Smirnov digs a right hand underneath Patton's ribcage. Patton let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Patton tries to pull guard but Smirnov holds him up against the cage and eventually Patton drops back down to his feet.

Smirnov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smirnov plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Oh Patton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smirnov flashes Patton a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Patton's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Patton crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Smirnov punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
