Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Carter (ranked 5367 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandy Lozano (ranked 5798 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shane Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sandy Lozano!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Lozano looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carter.
Despite the aggression on Lozano's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Lozano lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lozano uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Carter has time to react.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Lozano manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Carter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lozano is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Carter half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Carter shoots in looking for a takedown but Lozano manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
As Carter backs off Lozano throws a huge counter combo but Carter manages to avoid it all.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter goes for a double leg but Lozano avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lozano continues to drive forward.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Carter looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lozano shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Carter eats them both and turns towards Lozano to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Carter is rocked!
Lozano tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Oh Carter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Carter seems to have got his legs back now.
Carter fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lozano scores with a one two! Carter had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Lozano lands a left and a right that send Carter crashing to the mat, dazed. Lozano thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The fighters circle momentarily. Lozano darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Lozano lands a lovely overhand right.

Lozano wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Carter has him pressed against the cage.

Lozano breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Lozano fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Carter on the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lozano throws a right and a left that both miss.

Carter gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Lozano manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Carter keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Sandy Lozano comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lozano has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
