The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Towson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Sapp blocks an elbow strike.
Sapp lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Towson goes for a takedown attempt but Sapp pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Towson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Towson dives in for a single leg takedown but Sapp sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nice takedown defense from Sapp. No joy for Towson on that attempt.
An attempted straight right counter from Sapp misses the target.

Sapp forces Towson back against the cage and clinches.

Sapp is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Towson can't fight it off and eventually Sapp manages to take the fight to the floor. Towson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
