The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chaney darts in looking for a takedown but Alves gets double underhooks and turns Chaney into the cage.

It looked like Chaney was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Chaney dives in for a single leg takedown but Alves sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chaney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Alves tries to improve his position but Chaney has taken his back! Chaney has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Alves tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Chaney pushes Alves away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
