PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between The Drunk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Kazansky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kazansky comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Danger Zone kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Drunk shoots in and bounces Kazansky off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Drunk wants to pass the guard but Kazansky is keeping the position.
Drunk trying to control the position from guard on top but Kazansky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kazansky working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Drunk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Drunk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kazansky had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Drunk is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kazansky Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Drunk's back instead.
Drunk is trying to get back to his feet but Kazansky has full control of the position and if anything, Drunk has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Kazansky gets his hands free as Drunk looks to control.
Drunk is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kazansky is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kazansky doesn't have the hooks in and Drunk manages to turn into his guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Drunk's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Drunk won't allow Kazansky to get back to his feet.
Kazansky keeping moving, preventing Drunk from controlling successfully.
Kazansky will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drunk stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Nice sprawl there from Drunk as Kazansky shoots in.
Drunk fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kazansky has his takedown stuffed
and Kazansky takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kazansky looks gassed!
Kazansky keeps the fight on the outside.
Kazansky misses with a looping left.
Drunk shoots in but no luck this time.
Drunk shoots in for a takedown but Kazansky shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Drunk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Drunk will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kazansky is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kazansky tries to clinch but Drunk is having none of it.
Drunk tries for a takedown but Kazansky sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Drunk shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Kazansky scores with a hook.
Kazansky swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Drunk.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kazansky has a takedown stuffed.
Drunk keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kazansky.

Kazansky rushes Drunk and presses him up against the cage.

Drunk decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kazansky postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kazansky throws a big right hand that misses.

Drunk is looking for a triangle but Kazansky pushes his legs off easily.
Kazansky must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kazansky controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kazansky stands up over Drunk, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Drunk is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Kazansky frees his head nicely. Oh but Drunk has switched to an armbar! Kazansky is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
