Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chung Bailey (ranked 24653 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vikrama Lykke (ranked 6074 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chung Bailey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vikrama Lykke!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Bailey closes the distance and clinches up with Lykke, looking for a takedown. Bailey pushes Lykke against the cage but Lykke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lykke lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

and Lykke decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bailey's guard.
Lykke looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Bailey not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lykke is stalling in the full guard.

Lykke is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lykke must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bailey misses with a takedown attempt

and Lykke counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chung Bailey. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bailey wants to sweep here but Lykke controlling him for the moment.

Bailey is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bailey can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lykke controls the pace.
Let's hope that Lykke has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Lykke might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Lykke defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bailey.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bailey looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lykke is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lykke showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bailey.
Bailey shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lykke defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bailey fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lykke avoids it really well and circles away.
And Lykke tries to counter it with a takedown but Bailey pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Lykke stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lykke wants it to stay on the feet.
Lykke changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Bailey shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lykke napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lykke wants to get back to his feet but Bailey drags him back down.
Lykke controls the position for a moment.
Bailey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Lykke sneaks out the side door and pushes Bailey away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

and Lykke counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lykke is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lykke slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Lykke controls the position.
Lykke tries to advance to mount but can't.

Bailey can't do much from the bottom here.

Bailey tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lykke wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Lykke in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Bailey prevents Lykke from moving into mount.
Lykke content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Lykke.
Lykke has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bailey gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Lykke content just to control the position here.
Yet more stalling tactics from Lykke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vikrama Lykke showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Lykke slips under a jab from Bailey.
Lykke with the counter takedown but Bailey avoids it easily.
Bailey tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lykke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bailey somewhat.

and Lykke counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bailey!

Lykke is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Bailey's shoulder. That is not cool.
Bailey is looking for a sweep.
Lykke controlling the position from side mount.
Bailey tries to buck Lykke off but Lykke is having none of it.
Bailey is being controlled here.
Lykke's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Bailey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bailey stops Lykke from passing to mount.
Lykke moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Bailey can't do much from the bottom here.
Lykke remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bailey is trying to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lykke is staying tight to Bailey's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Bailey tries to bench press Lykke off him but Lykke keeps the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vikrama Lykke comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lykke has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
